Crest Pro Health Toothpaste - review, comment, testimonial

I tried it, I don't like it. It gets really runny and has an almost sickly sweet taste to it. I don't know if it made my teeth whiter or not, but I couldn't stand the taste and switched to something else. Good luck on that one folks, to me, toothpaste should leave your mouth feeling refreshed and clean, but Crest Pro Health just left mine feeling like I need to brush AGAIN.

MBT Shoes - review, try, test, comment, testimonial

MBT=Masai Barefoot Technology. I bought my first pair of MBT's in 2003, they were good, comfortable, and certainly capable of carrying me through the 60Km Weekend to End Breast Cancer walk. I could also work an 8 hour shift serving tables in them without many complaints. I don't know much about the claim that they get rid of or prevent celulite, but it certainly makes sense because as you are standing in them, you are definitely in a constant state of motion.
I recently started suffering from severe pain in my left hip, I tried everything, accupuncture, massage therapy, and a chiropractor. The only thing that helped was switching to wearing my MBTs daily. I had started walking to work in my new blalance running shoes, and after a few months of this, my hip started hurting.
I switched back to MBT and no more hip pain. These are now the only shoes I wear when walking. I just bought my third pair, and they are worth every penny to me.

Clean Tub - Clean Conscience

Well I thought I'd give it a try, we were out of regular tub cleaner anyway, you know the kind that claims you don't have to do any scrubbing?  So I picked up a bottle of Clorox new line Green Works.  To be honest, it does work, I did just as much scrubbing as I do with that other line, and I didn't feel like I was going to succumb to the noxious fumes, in fact it smelled clean, but not toxic.  In this day and age, where we all have to do our part to protect the environment, if step one is using an environmentally conscious tub cleaner - I'm all in.

Rental Guide-I welcome comments from anyone who has used this service

So this is a company that will find you a home to rent... or so they say. What they will do for you is compile listings from sites like Used Victoria, Craigs List, your local newspaper, and Kijiji. So if you don't have time to go through these listing yourself, then I say go for it, pay the 75 dollars, because it will make your search easier I'm sure. But there is no guarantee that after paying the 75 bucks you will actually find a place to live. They claim that some landlords go directly to them, but I am not really sure that actually happens, but they certainly claim it does.
I for one, would not pay someone else to do what I can do myself for free, but hey, to each his own. It's your money.

A friend of mine is looking at an apartment and this is what she had to say about it
http://www.Victoria.TheRentalGuide.ca
(expletive!)

-They do not have houses/suites for rent!!!

-they do not do anything but gather listing for you

-they do not help with the application process

-they do not guarantee that you will get housing

-they do not offer you a refund of the $75 fee, if you do not find a place by the time you need to be out of your old place

Landlords do NOT list their properties on this site

Using them in no way assures that you will find a place, it's actually just a bunch of crap.

Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Sprayer

So this thing is supposed to get rid of any buildup, dirt, soap scum, mess that's already in your shower when you start using it...it's also supposed to keep your shower clean so you never have to scrub it yourself again. Well I call bull-um-oney. I tried it twice, on two different showers and it doesn't do what it says it should do. I called the company and they actually gave me my money back though, that was impressive.
I guess I'd say it makes the cleaning job you will inevitably HAVE to do, a little less labour intensive, but it certainly doesn't do what it claims to do in those lovely commercials.

Eczema - I've tried it all- I found the cure - or so I thought

Ok, so I've tried everything for my terrible skin, and nothing works - for long. I've done the cortisone, and it's ok, but only as long as you're using it. The long term effects to me, are not worth it. Honestly the cortisone isn't even touching my eczema right now, doesn't help it at all in fact. So I started trying all sorts of different thing. Creams, vitamins, tanning, anything and everything that could possibly help.
So my BF bought me this pumpkin soap and unscented body butter combo for eczema from The Rocky Mountain Soap Company. I was beyond skeptical, but as I said I'll try anything. And it's working, my skin looks and feels better than it has in months. Anyone with eczema on their hands knows that washing them is a trying task - but the Pumpkin stuff doesn't burn, and I can use it daily it's actually getting rid of the eczema!
I left my body butter in a hotel and stopped using it for a couple of days, the eczema worsened. So I went and bought some more, and it's getting better again.
Honestly if you SUFFER from eczema you know how hard, painful, itchy, embarassing, uncomfortable it is. I say try it, I did and I'm so happy with it.
Great for kids to, I recently read that using Cortisone on your children with eczema will actually cause them to develop asthma - so there you go, an all natural cure/helper.
Amended - ok so it's good, it works, but my eczema has flared up again, as it always does. So no cure, just a helper.
This just in, I've been using a combination of Noxzema and Ozonal on my terrible hands for the past two weeks, and it's almost gone, I mean completely gone. If you suffer from Eczema like I have for most of my adult life, try this combination. I'm going to alternate between the Rocky Mountain system and my own system every two weeks, because everything helps for a while!

Crest Whitestrips - classic

Ok, so the deal is, use them 2x a day for 30 minutes or something. I'm sorry, but finding time to do something ONCE a day is hard enough! I'm supposed to use these things twice a day. So frequency of use is an issue, but the second issue, is they hurt. They sting the gums and hurt the roots of your teeth. They suggest you use a desensitizing toothpaste - but why does it hurt? What's in there?
All said and done, I don't see much difference, no one has made any comment on my beautiful fresh looking smile... so will I drop that kind of dough on white strips again? NO NO NO

The Master Cleanse

So one of my obsessions - and I'm sure an obsession of almost any woman you meet - is my weight. I'm not into diets but I do a lot of research about cleansing and keeping my body clean. I've done the Master Cleanse/Lemonade Diet 4 full times. I've tried it at least 8 times - but it's one of the hardest things I've EVER done.
The thing with TMC is you're not allowed to eat or drink ANYTHING other than this lemonade drink for 11 days. It's hard, it's really hard, it's really really really hard when you LOVE food the way I do. It's great tho, you'll feel like a million bucks when you're done, but when it's all said and done, I don't think it's a good idea to starve your body like that for such a long period of time. I know I lose a lot of weight when I do TMC but I gain it all back and sometimes more. I think many nutritionist would agree with me that starving your body puts it into self preservation mode - storing fat and burning muscle. I also believe that when you start eating again your body will store everything wondering when it will be forced to starve again.
I like doing TMC, but I will never do it again.. it's a challenge and I love a challenge but in the long run I believe it does more harm than good.

Skin Roller - well the imported from China Version

so when I went for Botox I talked to my dermatologist about this skin rolling machine thingy mabobber.
They are really expensive but apparently magical for getting rid of/preventing wrinkles. So ebay shopping researching expert that I am - I found one for a fraction of the cost. So how it works is - a bunch of tinny needles on a face sized rolling pin. Sounds like torture - well it kind of is, but not so bad when you consider the alternatives.
If you go to my botox entry you can see the before and after pics - well i started using the skin roller thing about two weeks later. I don't have a lot of wrinkles to begin with - besides those nasty 11's on my forhead. But my skin looks way better than it did before.
How it works is the tiny needles puncture your skin and collagen is produced in order to combat the damage- missing collagen is why we have those nasty wrinkles to begin with. The punctures also help those wonderful products you're using day and night actually to penetrate your skin. I've been using it 5 days a week now, and the results are pretty great. An ounce of prevention and all that jazz.

The Trash Bags - Who We Are

Well if you're from Canada you've probably heard of a couple of chicks doing a show on TV called the shopping bags - well this is a spin off of that. We are the trashy, uncensored, no holds barred version of that.
I'm a market researcher - and by that I mean I spend hours on the internet checking things out before I commit to buying.
I welcome your comments - opinions - thoughts and concerns. But first and foremost you should know that I don't really give a shit what you think about me, what I do, say, or think. It's a free country and we're all entitled to our own opinion - so go ahead and voice it!
